Do you have the Courage to be you?
" True belonging and self worth are not goods; we don't negotiate their value with the world. The truth about who we are lives in our heart. Our call to courage is to protect our wild heart against constant evaluation-especially our own"
- Brene Brown
There is a lot to be learned from those simple words of Brene Brown. How often have you been in a scenario where you hid your truth, not because you didn't have the opportunity but an old pattern or fear stopped you from being yourself. This can be as small as eating foods you normally wouldn't to as big as staying in a relationship that doesn't serve you.
We all have these moments, and every time we do a piece of us fades away. We have deprived the world from what we have to offer and in turn begin to feel resentful towards the world. How great would it be to feel free in every moment? To feel unstoppable and victorious in all that we do. What would be the formula to get to such a place?
First, we need courage. Courage to seek the truth, courage to then speak the truth, and courage to finally live it. With all that is happening in our world it is up to us to leave better children behind so that things can keep changing and growing, not regressing. That sta
rts with us, that starts with an awareness of yourself and what is holding you back.
So take a moment and reflect, reflect back to a time where you stepped out of your power and gave into the story of not being enough, not smart enough, not good enough, and feel what that moment felt like. Was it empowering or disempowering, was the experience elevating or depleting? From the words of Caroline Myss, "You know you are on the right path when you are not put in a position to betray yourself".
Let's together make this vow.... Today I choose courage, today I choose to commit to my path, today I choose to be congruent in all that I do, today, I choose ME-Dr Sonya Jensen ND
